L-type Double-sided Planing Machine

The L-type double-sided planing machine features an L-shaped vertical double-station structure and synchronous double-sided cutting as its core design. It is primarily engineered for multi-edge/double-edge machining with one-time clamping, and is suitable for high-efficiency planing of plates, profiles and structural components—especially for the precision machining of 90° adjacent edges.

Auxiliary Mechanisms (Plate Conveying & Calibration)

1. Plate Conveying

Plate conveying is driven by sliding tables and servo motors with ball screw transmission, enabling automatic horizontal and vertical conveying. Each roller is fitted with thick rubber coating (minimum thickness 10mm) to ensure the surface quality of plates remains uncompromised during the conveying process.

2. Plate Calibration

Automatic plate calibration is achieved via the integrated plate conveying device and workpiece calibration device.

Longitudinal & Transverse Planing Mechanisms

The machine adopts an L-shaped layout composed of two plate edge planers combined longitudinally and transversely, capable of machining a set of right-angle edges. The longitudinal planer is connected to the transverse planer via a flange to ensure the perpendicularity of the bed frames of the two machines.

  1. The horizontal and vertical feed of the planer tool rest is driven by servo motors through ball screw and nut transmission. Both the vertical and horizontal feed of the edge planer are also equipped with manual feed for operational flexibility.

  2. The sliding guide rails of the machine are made of wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant materials, ensuring no galling or scratch defects occur during operation.

  3. A cleaning device is mounted on the mobile trolley to timely remove fine iron chips and dust from the guide rails.

  4. The sliding guide rails undergo precision machining followed by manual scraping and lapping, which ensures a consistent oil film on the contact surfaces for sufficient lubrication—thus guaranteeing the machining precision of planed workpieces.

  5. Variable frequency speed regulation is adopted, allowing the selection of different cutting speed ranges for workpieces of different materials and thicknesses.

  6. Electrical control is applied to the automatic feed, automatic tool lifting and automatic reversing cycle of the cutting stroke during the planing process, all of which are completed fully automatically.

  7. Forming cutters are used for planing curved bevels such as U-shaped bevels, while standard cutters are applied for all other regular bevel machining operations.
