In the first three quarters of 2025, China's machine tool exports showed characteristics of accelerated growth, optimized market structure, and increased proportion of high-end products, with significant improvements in both export volume and product competitiveness.

1. Continued growth in export volume: In the first three quarters of 2025, cumulative exports of machine tools reached US$21.59 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%; exports in September alone reached US$2.52 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16%, achieving double-digit growth for seven consecutive months. Among them, the export growth rate of metalworking machine tools expanded from 19.4% in the first half of the year to 23.4%.

2. Market distribution shows divergence: Asia and Europe remain the core export markets, with exports to Asia and Europe increasing by 15.8% and 8.8% year-on-year respectively in the first three quarters. Southeast Asia became the main driver of growth, with exports to Vietnam and Thailand increasing by 37.4% and 56.4% year-on-year respectively; the growth rate of exports to Russia and India has expanded, but the decline in exports to the United States is showing an expanding trend.

3. Significant product structure upgrade: The export share of high-end CNC machine tools continued to increase, and exports of high-end machine tools to Japan formed a new form of competition with established companies such as Mitsubishi; exports of metal forming machine tools increased by 36.2%, and special-purpose machine tools in the aerospace and new energy fields became new growth points for exports.
